The 2013-14 season has begun with the normal suspects are expected to be the NBA top teams. It’s not always about how a team finished last year as some teams that finished well, aren’t predicted to finish in the playoffs.
The Grizzlies are rated in the top 10, except for one guy who thinks less of the Grizzlies than we do. Hollinger’s algebraically calculations are not posted until November. The ESPN RPI was not up because it is based on actual games played.
Jimmy Spencer @FoxSports wrote, “Here are some words to live by: never trust the NBA preseason. The compact schedule of tinkering and holding back gives only the slightest reflection of a team’s true ability. The real preseason is the 82-game regular season that invites more than half the NBA into the postseason.”
John Schuhmann @NBA.com points out the big weakness of the Grizzlies is still 3 point makes. “only the Thunder (35 in seven games) hit fewer threes in the preseason than the Grizzlies did (39 in eight games)”
Average ranking starting the season is 8.6. (Actual not included in average.)
