The NBA announced today that its finance committee has approved the sale of the Grizzlies to the group headed by Robert Pera. This will bring to an end the Heisley era, and bring in an ownership group that is more diverse and locally based than it’s previously been. Welcome Robert Pera-we’ve all been more than stoked to see how you’ve reached out to locals and been successful in involving them in this transfer of ownership. Best of all, we can all look forward to rooting for our hometown NBA team for many, many years to come.
Teeny disclaimer: Heisley and Pera’s group must work out the details, which is merely a formality. A few days or so should find that sorted out.
Will he speak at opening night? Yet another reason to make sure you’ve got your tickets…see you there. GO *MEMPHIS* GRIZZLIES!

Nice! Now that Heisley is gone, hope Pera is not like Heisley, in which he is very strict in terms of finances.
