The Memphis Grizzlies assigned Tony Wroten to the Reno Bighorns of the developmental league today.
The move has been rumored for some time as Ron Tillery of the Commercial Appeal tweeted days ago that this was the team’s intention. Wroten has been in Washington attending to personal family concerns.
With the Grizzlies having the leagues best record, playing time would be limited at best for the rookie plus the schedule heading into the holidays means little real practice time. The assignment will allow Wroten to develop his game and stay in game shape in case he’s needed later in the season.
