With the labor strife apparently behind us for now and the season to begin, with free agency and camps opening on Dec. 9 and the season on Christmas Day, we can once again turn our attention to the Memphis Grizzlies.
John Hollinger of ESPNhas put together his view of the expected Grizzlies team heading into the abbreviated season. Hollinger uses his proprietary system to rank players while throwing in his own personal comments along the way.
ESPN also asked 3 Shades of Blue to discuss his views and our views of the teamheading into the season in a 5 on 5 format.
Some of Hollinger’s more interesting comments include calling Tony Allen the league’s best perimeter defender, Zach Randolph’s rebounding and usage rate was at a level not seen since Moses Malone and that O J Mayo could succeed as a point guard only as a caretaker and spot up shooter. His review of every player is in depth and profound.
