Jeremy Pargo, the much maligned point guard from last season, has been traded to Cleveland in exchange for D J Kennedy, the former St. Johns star who has struggled to find his niche in the NBA.

It doesn't look like he is going to find one here in Memphis either.
What are your thoughts about the trade and should the Grizzlies keep Kennedy?

True salary dump, non-guaranteed contract. Now Haddadi resigns and the roster is set.
PG- Conley, Bayless, Wroten
SG- Allen, Selby/Ellington, Bayless
SF- Gay, Pondexter
PF- Z-Bo, Arthur
C- Gasol, Speights, Haddadi

Not too shabby...

I agree. A lot will depend on the battle between Ellington and Selby for backup SG. Selby is undersized but Ellington hasn't got the attitude to be a success in my opinion.

The main hole would be if Rudy Gay were to be injured we have no 3rd option but that is the problem with salary caps. You can't always fill every need.

The write-up in the CA has him sounding motivated, but I agree with you, can only go off what we've seen from him in the past. Hopefully an opportunity to have an important role on a championship contender will get him to raise his game. If Rudy were to go down for an extended period of time, we would need to possibly make a deal involving a draft pick and TA, or we would have to hope Pondexter could hold the fort down and play some smaller lineups with Bayless at the 2 and TA at the 3.

They did a press introduction on Ellington, but none on Kennedy from what I remember. I figure training camp will tell us something. When does it start??
