Orlando is coming to visit and won't apparently be kind guests and give us JJ Redick for a trade exception and some dry rack ribs.

Is anyone upset about that?

I don't think we need to be upset at the Magic. I doubt the Grizzlies' FO was able or willing to offer what Orlando wanted (and got) for JJ.

It is nice to know that JJ will not be here to light up scoreboard with 3s. Maybe these trades will not have cleared all the hurdles so that the Magic will be short tonight and it will be an easier win.

I meant is anyone upset about not acquiring a shooter of Reddick's caliber at the trade deadline.

Oh, sorry that I miss understood. I didn't really think that the Grizzlies' FO was willing to pay for a proven shooter, like Reddick.

I think any talk of us doing anything meaningful at the trade deadline was nothing but hot air. I couldn't get any official commentary on it, but when I spoke to Hollinger at the All-Star game, he was very dismissive of the possibility of us making any moves of value.

I'm upset about it in the sense that the CLE salary dump didn't really garner any better offers for Rudy or get TOR to sweeten their deal but it DID include assets (1st Rounder, Speights) that could have gotten Reddick to Memphis. And if not, CLE still would have happily done the same exact deal at 2:59pm yesterday.

But that's hindsight (even though I would have said it before the dump, too) Anyway, I am now less concerned about failure to garner additional 3pt shooting than I am about Conley wearing down or -- God forbid -- getting hurt for an extended stretch. Would have rather seen the Griz sign a veteran PG that Hollins would trust for 17 MPG.

The team is now 7-3 since the trade with only one bad loss among the three.
