Memphis seems to have righted the ship after their recent swoon. They have won two in a row, dispensing of the Kevin Love-less Timberwolves and the surprising Pacers over the last few days. And both of those wins have come without a fully healthy Tony Allen, which is saying something. The Grizzlies are sure to have their hands full with Utah tonight though.
Utah has been on a slide of their own lately. After ripping through January by winning 11 of 15 games, the Jazz have only won once in February, although that single victory did come over the Lakers. The Jazz have been getting outrebounded, which is one of the biggest sources of their recent woes.
My predictions for this particular game? Pain. Yes, that’s right, I made it this far before feeling compelled to use the Clubber Lang quote. It feels right for this game though. Utah is a physical team with a lot of similarities to the Grizzlies, just as the Pacers were on Friday night. The Jazz won the first contest of the season back on January 6 in large part because the bench failed to score, and Utah won the turnover and points in the paint categories. Expect those to be key areas once again.
Prediction: Memphis continues their home-winning streak and wins semi-comfortably.
