Mark Stein put up his power rankings for the week a couple of days late. He has a favorable (I think) comment about the Grizzlies. It all depends on how you interpret the word “dive”. Also, I updated Sagarin and Hollinger’s daily rankings and the actual entire league standings.
I know you are reading this after the Denver game and loss, but the rankings didn’t change except the Grizzlies exchanged places with the Nuggets in Hollinger’s poll.
The Grizzlies are ranked in the top 10 by 6 of these guys and 11th in 3 others. Not bad! But will they stay there is everybody’s question. Of real importance is will they make the playoffs.
Quotes of the week, “Preseason projection: 16. Chief reason for the rise: Mike Conley finally is playing up to his draft status, which gives the Grizzlies a solid starting five, something even the Thunder cannot boast.” By Dave Del Grande at CBS sports.
SI and Stein at ESPN did not post new rankings for this week.
Click here to see Hollinger’s playoff odds chart. He has the Grizzlies at a 68.5% chance of making the playoffs.
