Spent some time at Grizzlies shoot-around and talked to the newest member of the Memphis Grizzlies Seth Curry. Check it out.

Q: Seth welcome to Memphis how are you enjoying the city of Memphis so far?
Curry: Thank you it’s great. I’m trying to learn the team, learn the plays, and stuff like that. Great environment to be in and come here and work hard.

Q: Has the team settled you in well here and taken you any of the local restaurants?
Curry: I’ve been to a few places so far. Mainly just been having practice and resting so far.

Q: Any places interest you so far?
Curry: I’ve been hearing a lot about Gus’s Fried Chicken. I really need to go there soon.

Q: What is the role the coaching staff is wanting you to have on this team?
Curry: Be myself. Be a combo guard. Obviously I’ve been playing a lot of point guard at the D-League before coming here so I can do that but just come here and fill a role. Learn both spots at practice point guard and off guard. Come in and just be a scorer. Help spread the floor with my shooting ability and stuff like that. First and foremost learn the defensive rotations. That’s what I’m working on right now.

Q: You said you played more point guard in the D-League, is that something you feel more comfortable doing or do you feel more comfortable at the two-guard spot and focus on shooting?
Curry: I want to play the point. I felt real comfortable playing that in the D-League and throughout my life I’ve been handling the ball so especially with my size that’s what I need to do to stick in the league. Continue to work on that, get the reps at practice, and eventually get in the game. I should be fine.

Q: Did your brother (Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors) and your father (Dell Curry former NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award winner with the Charlotte Hornets) give you any words of wisdom now that you are in the NBA?
Curry: Yeah just be confident. Come out here and just work hard everyday and try to make your mark. You got to earn the respect of your teammates and your coaches and the entire league so come in and do that every day and just put in the extra time.
