Memphis’ Playoff Possibilities

This is the first season since the 2006-2007 season in which a playoff berth is probable for the Grizzlies. The roster has never been so talented and never shown as much promise as it does this season. If the Grizzlies make the playoffs, and chances are they will, there are a few matchups that Memphis should be vary of. With these matchups come opportunities that the Grizzlies should be prepared to seize.

I’ll tell ya something. The first NBA player I remember thinking was really awesome was Elvin Hayes. I was VERY young, but it seemed like he worked hard. Of course I dug Dr. J, and that Sixers championship team was my first favorite team with Cheeks/Toney/etc.

But I’m hard pressed to remember enjoying watching the play of an individual as much as I have enjoyed Tony Allen’s hustle this season.

Memphis is one of best teams in the NBA just based upon their talent. The Grizzlies starting roster is composed of scorers and defensive specialists which is indicated by the Grizzlies high number of wins against elite teams.The Grizzlies have beaten teams like Miami, the Los Angeles Lakers, Oklahoma City, and Dallas this season.

MEMPHIS, March 25, 2011 Grizzlies forward Rudy Gay underwent season-ending surgery today to repair a left shoulder subluxation, Grizzlies General Manager and Vice President of Basketball Operations Chris Wallace announced today. The surgery was performed by Dr. James Andrews in Pensacola, Fla.
