Some of the preseason Power Rankings are out.  The Grizzlies begin where they ended last year.

What is surprising to me is which teams rose so high in the rankings from last year's showing.

• The Washington Wizards go from 29th to 11th in.  Are they pulling a fast one on everybody, or have they improved that much?
• The Clippers climb to 19th.  Really!  All because of Griffin, who is now out for weeks with the broken knee cap, or other reasons?

The Grizzlies are probably the 4th worst team in the Western Conference right now only ahead of the Twolves, Kings and Thunder. Blake Griffin's knee injury might tip them below the Grizzlies as well right now.

Overall I think the West is superior to the east so I would rank the Grizzlies 23rd overall.

Two key injuries to any team in the bottom 10 could put that team at #30.
