Zach Randolph

The Grizzlies got together for one last practice before heading off the OKC and first first round game Saturday at 8:30pm. They were lose and relaxed. Mike Miller was out there taking corner threes. Mike Conley was resting his hamstring, Gasol sat down to interview with the media. Coach Joerger was confident and focused.

Before leaving, a few of the players & Coach Joerger talked with the media.
Here are a few of those videos:

Mike Conley practice April 17th
Mike Conley discussed having to grind out wins for the past month. In doing so, they have prepared themselves for the next series. There is no time off. This is why they play and with their experience, they will be able to focus on the game and not as much as the circumstance.

Zach Randolph practice April 17th
Zach Randolph discussed the mental toughness and experience that the team has. This is an emotional game and that feeds into how he plays and what happens down the road. They believe in themselves and are ready to play OKC who is one of the best teams in the league.

Coach Joerger practice April 17th
Coach Joerger discusses why he went to talk to Gary Darby on the post game show last night.

AUDIO: Coach Joerger at practice April 17th
Coach addresses the low point of the season, how he handles those moments, Kevin Durant, Nick Calathes and yes, eventually, Steven Adams.

Dave Joerger was named NBA Western Conference coach of the month during practice. He did not speak to the media about it when it was announced. This is the second time this season Joerger has received the award. The award is given out 7 months of the season. Grizzlies were 6-2 in April & roared back to grab the 7 seed by winning 5 straight.

Just after media availability and prior to the start of practice, Joerger & TA had a closed door meeting in a training room off to the side. After seeing TA walk off the court last night during the game, visibly frustrated on the bench late in the game, Joerger put Tony back in the game with a little over 2 minutes left. Allen would make multiple plays that gave the Grizzlies a chance to pull off the OT win and clinch the 7th seed. No word on what was discussed, but Joerger clearly wants to settle whatever that was today & not let it effect the chemistry of the team headed to OKC.
