It’s never easy to say goodbye. I hate these moments. What can you do when a team comes out making 63% of their shots?

The Grizzlies scored 109 points on the road! They made 45% of their shots and went 30-34 from the FT line. Their ORtg was 106.9 in a game with a Pace of 97.59, the highest of the series. They played really well in spite of Mike Conley & Tony Allen being limited and Zach Randolph suspended.

However, the Thunder were better. They had a 128.8 ORtg, made 61% of FG, 58% of 3P FG.
Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook (yuck) played like superstars. Games 6 and 7 of this series were theirs. The Grizzlies could do nothing to stop them. Sure the Grizzlies were not healthy nor with a full roster in game 7, but it didn’t matter. Durant and Russ hit a lot of contested shots that they missed in the first five games. The Thunder played like most national media expected them to play before the series began giving the Grizzlies at best 2 wins.

But enough about the Thunder, tonight, we celebrate the Grizzlies. It wasn’t easy. It never is with these guys. They were dealt a rough hand all season yet kept fighting back. And when you thought they were done, they wouldn’t quit.

I can’t say enough good things about this team and how proud I am as a fan of their grit and fight. Tonight we lost the battle, but with the right roster moves, I believe our capable front office and coaching staff will have us even better poised next year for a great run.
