According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the Grizzlies are in “advanced talks” to trade Jerryd Bayless to Boston for a package involving Courtney Lee. Can’t say we didn’t see this coming…except that Chris Wallace, who has long been one who wanted Courtney Lee on the Grizzlies, doesn’t, well, really, uh, make the decisions anymore. Whether this happens, who knows, but we’ll find out soon. Watch this space for more as it comes about…

Update: According to reports, the deal is Jerryd Bayless to Boston for Courtney Lee and Boston’s 2016 2nd round pick. The trade will be finalized after both players are cleared through physicals, expected to happen tomorrow.

Courtney Lee has been coveted by the Grizzlies for a while now but I worry that his lack of development after five years in the league.

His minutes have plmeted this season to a career low on a terrible Celtics team. Why is that if he is such a great player? This will be his fifth team in 6 NBA seasons. Why doesn’t he hang on anywhere if he is so great?

I hope the FO is making another great move but his contract is large relative to Bayless and longer too. I believe the fans need to be more apprehensive about this deal if it comes to pass.

I’m not “married” to Bayless. I love how he competed for us but I understand the trade. Lee is what he is. He’s a 2 guard that can give you some perimeter shooting and will play solid defense. He’s not going to blow you away. I don’t like having to depend on Calathes now as our backup PG tho. He has NOT looked comfortable in that role so far this season. Putting even more on Conley. SMH. Doesn’t seem smart if you ask me.
