Caught up in the 2014 NBA Draft whirlwind, I got the chance to sit in on a few of the media scrums around Green Room invites; some realistic targets within the Grizzlies’ range, and others just downright interesting to listen to. As the day progresses, I’ll be dropping a few little nuggets from these encounters.
Up next is Rodney Hood from Duke, who you can read about in depth here.
Rodney Hood was a dynamite scorer for big blue at Duke, alongside Top 3 prospect Jabari Parker. In terms of his jump to the NBA, Hood figures to carry with him his tantalizing shooting ability, but there remain questions elsewhere regarding his game. For a player that projects as a small forward he possesses a slight build, short wingspan, and subpar prowess on the glass.
Hood had mentioned early on in the draft process that he intends to work on his body in order to enhance his prospects as an NBA player. I followed up with him on this to see how he believes working on his frame will create value for his game. I’m not sure I framed the question properly, though, as his reply was centered around eating right and not sleeping in. Regardless, you can check out his response in the audio below, as well as listen to him discuss the impact of Coach K and his music taste.
