The weekly rankings have become difficult for these guys because teams that are favored to win, aren’t winning like these guys thought.  Perhaps the most bizarre rankings this week come from Matt Moore@CBS sports.  You wouldn’t guess which teams he has in the bottom 10.

Then some teams are winning that people thought wouldn’t win.  As Seth Rosenthal @SBNation wrote, “This would be a lot easier if the good and bad teams would just cut to the chase and announce themselves and such. . . . you’ve got probably-great teams who’ve sputtered to open the year, probably-terrible teams who’ve started hot, teams that merely benefited from a weak schedule . . . In short: If you see a team that strikes you as way too high or way too low, you’re right. Relax. Give it a few weeks to sort itself out.”

Average ranking for the week from 10 polls (Covers is not updated) is 7.8

One Response to Power Rankings-week of 5 November

Sot of crazy how good the Southwest Division is so good again, excluding the Hornets-who are on the rise with former Grizz Greivis Vazquez-of course. In all of these the Spurs, Grizzlies, and Mavericks are in the top 15 excluding 1 ranking. The Rockets are in the top 15 in 7 of the rankings. Never an easy path to the playoffs in the Southwest.
